The RoleYou will lead Taptap Send’s entry into Cameroon -- from regulatory authorisations through to launching the product and growing the user base. With support from Taptap Send’s existing global team, you will deliver a major new market for remittance senders.Responsibilities:
- represent Taptap Send to local regulators and other authorities
- work with our Legal team on the legal set-up of our operations
- develop partnerships with local banks
- lead work to define our product offering, including UX work with potential users, understanding different methods for collecting funds, and working cross-functionally within Taptap to develop product adaptations
- hire a Growth manager to take the product to market after launch
- set pricing for the product and define target users and communities
- own targets and timelines for the Cameroon launch
You will:
- be a high energy networker and high achiever, placed regularly in the top 5% by your peers
- always be curious, and sceptical of received assumptions
- have experience of setting up complex operations from scratch
- have a sense of fun, and enjoy seeing the impact of your work
- be a top-tier negotiator and political operator, able to navigate local dynamics.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in an executive role in a high-performing, fast-paced environment (tech, professional services, etc.)
- Master’s degree (or an additional 5 years of executive management experience for those with Bachelor’s degree)
- Experience with people management, including hiring and structuring teams
- Prior professional experience with business operations, strategy, and product development strongly desirable
- Passion for working with and for migrant communities
- No task too small mentality and willingness to delve into gritty details to get things done
- Experience building strong relationships with internal amp; external partners as well as executive leadership
- Proficiency in French and English required
- Comfortable with regional travel.
